Frost Abstraction, Caterwauling?

I just could not resist!!

As many of you know, Just about one year ago, I did a project on frost abstractions which I enjoyed very much. Calgary has been going through an extremely cold spell the past few weeks, and one day I woke to find wonderful frost patterns on my windows once again. I started taking pictures over the next few days and this is one of the most interesting one that developed.

I love abstractions for many reasons. This type of picture is open to so much more post-development creative work; often the final image bears little in appearance to the original image. This creative work is dependent on what the artist sees as well as on how the artist develops the abstraction, but at the same time, it begs the viewer to become involved in looking at and exploring the image, and more often than not, different viewers will see different things in the abstraction. This type of image, I think, forces the viewer to spend some time with the image, rather than just glancing at it..
