Lamp and Tree with Frost

This winter, Calgary has been exceptionally moist, and as a result, we are seeing many days where the city is blanketed in beautiful hoar frost. A couple of days ago, the day started, not only frosty, but sunny as well, so I took the opportunity to have a look at some trees that I had been noticing over the past few weeks. I do not think that the tree by itself would have made a strong enough impression, but the lovely antique style lamp-post, also covered in frost made for a much stronger composition, and this was balanced by the mound of snow in the bottom right corner. The deep blue sky allowed me to darken the sky, and the clouds only helped.
